Lawrence J. Cohen
Mr. Cohen founded Pembroke Companies, Inc. in 1992. Prior to forming Pembroke, Mr. Cohen was a Managing Director of Bear Stearns & Co. and Bear Stearns Real Estate Group, Inc., where he was responsible for the initiation and management of joint ventures with Japanese financial institutions for the acquisition and syndication of U.S. real estate to Japanese investors in cross-border partnerships. Before that, Mr. Cohen served as a First Vice President in the Real Estate Group of Integrated Resources Inc., where he was responsible for the acquisition, financing and asset management of in excess of $1 billion in commercial real estate. Mr. Cohen began his career as an attorney with the New York law firm of Proskauer Rose Goetz & Mendelsohn. Mr. Cohen is a cum laude graduate of the Syracuse University School of Management and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He is a member of the bar of both New York and Florida.

Jay D. Chazanoff
Mr. Chazanoff has been affiliated with Pembroke since 1994. From March 1991 to November 1994, Mr. Chazanoff served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Integrated Resources, Inc., a diversified financial services company. Prior to that, Mr. Chazanoff served as Integrated Resource’s Sr. Executive Vice President where he was responsible for the Company’s marketing activities and certain corporate finance relationships including extensive activities in affordable housing. Mr. Chazanoff was also a partner in entities that served as general partner of approximately 200 real estate limited partnerships, which owned commercial properties and residential real estate. Mr. Chazanoff and his partners concluded a successful sale of such interests in 1998. Mr. Chazanoff is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Pace University and Long Island University, where he earned an MBA in finance.

Peter H. Gray
Mr. Gray has been affiliated with Pembroke since 1994. Prior to joining Pembroke, Mr. Gray was with Integrated Resources, Inc., serving as an analyst in the Investor Relations Group. Since 2000, Mr. Gray has also served as a Vice President of Starrett Corporation, responsible for the refinancing and repositioning of the company’s affordable housing properties. Mr. Gray is a graduate of Manhattan College and Fordham University where he earned an MBA in finance.

Stephen Salup
Stephen Salup is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Starrett Corporation and has over thirty-five years of experience in legal aspects of real estate development and management with an emphasis on affordable and governmental regulated housing, as well as commercial real estate development, land use and interfacing and advising on governmental assisted development and regulation. Mr. Salup has prior experience as the General Counsel of the NYC Economic Development Administration and as Real Estate Counsel for the National Kinney Corporation. Mr. Salup is a graduate of the University of Maryland and NYU Law School, and is a member of the New York State and Florida Bar.

Josh Siegel
Mr. Siegel joined Starrett Corporation in 2008 as President of Starrett Development LLC. His primary role will be to direct all the development activities in the Starrett Corp and to seek new acquisition opportunities. Prior to joining Starrett, Mr. Siegel worked at Worldwide Holdings from 1999 to 2008 in a variety of roles including project manager and director of acquisitions where he was responsible for the acquisition, financing and development of more than $1 billion in residential real estate. Prior to his career in real estate, Mr. Siegel spent 10 years in municipal finance and derivatives primarily at CS First Boston. Mr. Siegel is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Paul Kahn
Paul Kahn is a Director — Asset Management of Starrett Corporation, joining in 2005. He has 10 years of experience all aspects of residential real estate development and management. Mr. Kahn’s prior experience includes overall asset management for a $250 million portfolio of New York City residential properties and project management for several residential developments in and around the New York City region. Mr. Kahn is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, and Hunter College where he earned a Masters Degree in Urban Planning.

Randall E. Beck
Randall Beck is a Director — Asset Management of Starrett Corporaton since January 2008. Prior to joining Starrett, Mr. Beck was the Senior Property Manger for a significant residential property owner in Manhattan, where he was responsible for 1000 units in 30 locations. A former Naval Officer with experience in ships and in special warfare, Mr. Beck has managed portfolios of real estate in Texas, Connecticut, and Manhattan. He has expertise in finance, operations, development, design, and mechanical systems. He originated the first securitized real estate loans in Texas. Mr. Beck has developed several subdivisions and multi-use properties and has performed extensive rehabilitation of older properties in the Manhattan area. Mr. Beck graduated from Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned an MBA in Finance/Community Planning.

Zev Hendeles
Mr. Hendeles has been affiliated with Pembroke since 2005 as a Financial Analyst. Mr. Hendeles is a magna cum laude graduate from Yeshiva University and earned a M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.

 


100 West 93rd Street. Located on Columbus Avenue between 92nd and 93rd Streets, 100 West 93rd Street was constructed in 1970 under the Mitchell Lama program. The Property consists of a 30-story building containing 280 apartment units, a 150 space-parking garage and 3,500 square feet of commercial space. The property exited Mitchell-Lama in 2003. Management has successfully converted the building to condominium. In addition, Management is currently in the process of obtaining approvals to enlarge the base of the building to add approximately 53,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.
